Firefox Pvt Network: 1. Price and 2. Usage

more options

Following is from an answer on the forum:

1. "The Firefox Private Network (Desktop Environment-Windows, MacOS,Linux) costs $2.99 a month and Mozilla VPN(Mobile Devices) costs $4.99 a month." My credit card charge shows 4.99 for FPN, not $2.99. Please change to $2.99/month, and refund any overcharges for previous months.

2. The instructions to turn on indicate a hexagonal icon with grey or green for off/on on toolbar or taskbar (can't recall which). I can't find that icon on either. Where is it?

On #1, hopefully someone familiar with the billing arrangements can explain what to do about this.

On #2, Firefox Private Network is a Firefox extension. It would appear on the toolbar in Firefox, not anywhere outside of Firefox.

Can you see it on the Add-ons page? Either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a (Mac: Command+Shift+a)
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
  • type or paste about:addons in the address bar and press Enter/Return

In the left column of the Add-ons page, click Extensions. On the right side, find the "Manage Your Extensions" heading.

If it's not listed, you may need to install the extension: How to install/uninstall the Firefox Private Network extension.

If it is listed, and you are using private browsing windows, make sure the extension is enabled for private windows as described in this article: Extensions in Private Browsing.

If the extension is enabled for all kinds of windows and doesn't appear on the toolbar, check the Customize panel to see whether it is available to add from the collection of unused buttons: Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars.
