Like the idea of Lockwise syncing my passwords between devices. But I need to know if an Internet Connection is required to access my passwords on a particular device. My preference would be Local Storage & Synchronization for Additions & Changes.

Desktop installations of Firefox like the one on your Mac store your saved logins locally in your currently active profile folder. You do not need to be connected to your Firefox Account to access those logins, but you do need to be connected to Sync changes.

There is a Lockwise mobile app which may work differently, but I haven't tried it myself.

P.S. We've had a number of posts from Mac users complaining that their settings are lost each time they restart their system. If you have that problem, then please take a look at the installation article: How to download and install Firefox on Mac.

Thanks. As an octogenarian, just starting to get my head around the Firefox universe. Ciao, Nik

The Lockwise app on mobile uses a Firefox Account to retrieve the logins (i.e. they are not stored on this device).
You need a Firefox desktop device and enable syncing the logins to make this work.
