Unable to Restore Bookmarks. Will not bring up folder to choose file.

I go to Bookmarks, Show All Bookmark, Import and Backup, Restore and click on Choose File. BUT not file show up to choose from. But I can find the Backup file in my users account. I also have a Old Firefox Data file on desktop but it not seeing it either. Firefox just stop when I try to Choose File, Import or Export.

What files do you see in the bookmarkbackups folder ?

The name of an automatically created JSON bookmarks backup in the bookmarkbackups folder includes a total item count (folders and separators included) and an hash value to prevent saving the same backup more than once. You also see this count in the Restore menu drop-down list.

  • bookmarks-YYYY-MM-DD_<item count>_<hash>.jsonlz4.

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.

I see the folder [C:\Users\Steve\Desktop\Old Firefox Data\g5dx7cb6.default] and the bookmarkbackups folder and the JSONLZ4 files, 16 of them.

Problem is I cannot do a restore as when I click "Choose File" nothing happens. The process just stop and does not display the files to choose from. I have follow the instructions on Firefox with not luck. Also Firefox is not doing a Backup of the Bookmarks either.

Thank you for any help.

Please note I cannot Export or Import files. I try to Import from another browser and and I get the following error.
