How do I get single spacing in a Thunderbird html signature?

When creating an html signature, Thunderbird places a double space between each line. I would like it to look like:

John Doe

Comptroller

XYZ Corp.

etc. etc.

Instead it always comes out as:

John Doe

Comptroller

XYZ Corp.

etc. etc

Does anyone know how to fix this? I know how to fix it in the body copy of an e-mail but not in the html signature. Thanks so much!

Instead of creating the signature from an HTML message, try entering it directly in Tools/Account Settings, selecting the account in the left pane (see picture). That makes it easier to control the line spacing.
