I have tried disabling hardware acceleration but the problem persists.

Not sure if this is helpful but the "flicker" is a sort of transparent box, almost as if the mouse is trying to scroll and zoom simultaneously.

I'm using Windows 10 on an Acer Aspire V5, if that's any use too.

Hi, Firefox 59.0.2 is current release this date. (fixes) https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/update-firefox-latest-version

Please use Search in WIn10 for Trouble shooters and run that please. Note what it fixes.

  • Repair System Registry and Files

Do please do this : 1)Type cmd in the search box from Start. Then right-click on Command Prompt to select Run as administrator. 2) Type or Copy/Paste the following commands and press Enter after each. Reboot after 2nd one finishes.

  • DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth

If see No component store corruption detected. You do not need to run below

  • DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

Where are these transparent boxes located when you see them , as there are two as per Customize ?
