I had a problem where my tabs kept crashing, to try and resolve this I uninstalled everything and re installed v53 (64 bit).

I left the launch firefox box ticked in the installer and it loaded ok and I could use firefox until I closed it. once it was closed it would not open again, not even in safe mode and it wont show me the profile selector either. it's just dead until I uninstall and reinstall again, but then the first time I close it I'm back to square one.

Any ideas?

this might be a crash report relating to this but there doesn't seem to be anything produced in the last couple of hours Crash ID: bp-20030ee2-021e-4ff9-91ee-656a60170502

hi, please try to uninstall or update the EMET (Enhanced Mitigation Experience Toolkit) tool on your system and see if this makes a difference.

Hi, Thanks for your quick reply, i had never heard of EMET before but i grabbed the latest version from the Microsoft website and that seemed to fix the problem.
