I can't find a delete button for these folders and they are not needed as they fill up and take up much needed space in the program.

Googlemail?

Unsubscribe from them.

Better still, go to Googlemail's website, log in there and look in the settings for the controls to disable them, or at least stop them being presented via IMAP.

No, this is Thunderbird I'm talking about. Won't do any good going to gmail for answers, they don't run Mozilla's Thunderbird. I need to know how to do this in Thunderbird program.

But it is a Googlemail account?

Here is the settings page for my gmail account.

It is most vexing to have people refute guidance without even considering it.

Having stopped gmail from publishing these folders, if Thunderbird still won't let you delete them you can open Thunderbird's profile in your file manager and remove the corresponding file(s). The safe way to locate the relevant folder is to use Help|Troubleshooting Information and click on the button next to "Profile directory". It's always best to close Thunderbird before doing any surgery on its profile.

You'd be looking for a file structure similar to that shown in my second image. You will have an All Mail file to accompany the All Mail.msf you see here. Delete both, and the corresponding files for any other unwanted folders.
