I LIke FF but a recent chnage of PC has left me frustrated, all the back up files for FF are now resident on my desktop all 55 of them,FF stops if I delete them

All the back up and sytem files that FF needs to function are on my dektop, (55 in total) when I get rid of them FF stops working.(obviously). Where should they live and how do I get them there and ensure that FF stays working?
