How do I synchronise Tags on an account that more than 1 person uses so that the tags match?

Hi, I'm currently sharing an inbox with someone and we are setting up tags to make it easier to sort emails. At the moment there are 9 tags set up. Both of us have the tags set up exactly the same on our computers but when 1 puts say tag 7 on an email it shows up on mine as tag 8 which is causing issues. Is there a way to synchronise the tags? Would really appreciate your help. Thanks

only the first predefined tags are guaranteed to synchronize in IMAP. So what your get depends of your mail server. Some support more, others do not.

Hi Matt, Thanks for your reply. It is a shame that there isn't an obvious way to synchronise tags. Is there possibly an add-on that can make the tags synch? Or perhaps a way of changing the settings on Thunderbird? Cheers

I really don't think you can expect tags to work reliably outside of the client.
