My PC is running processes that are labeled as firefox, but i have uninstalled it, and can find no more files named firefox, but pc cleaners say it is running
I have been trying to clean up my laptop, and keep noticing processes named firefox, and idle crawler...this suprises me, because i dont have firefox on this laptop, i may once have, but not anymore, i have checked the uninstall software list in control panel, its not there, i have searched the c: drive for files named mozilla or firefox, and deleted them, i cant find anymore, yet, it is always in my process list, and also seems to be a memory hog. I use toolwiz as my PC cleaner, it sees some firefox stuff, and tons of data from it when doing a privacy cleanup, yet, it gives me the "cant fix firefox is running" message...every time i have come across a file i think may be related , it gives me the firefox is running crap, and it wont let me remove some things that i think may be the issue..

On the Task Manager Processes tab, up on the menu bar, click View > Select Columns and add "Image Path Name". This will show where the firefox.exe process is launching from on the hard drive, and hopefully that will point to a specific program. If the location is suspicious (e.g., Temp folder) I would suspect malware. Note: you may need to use the button at the bottom of the tab "Show processes from all users."
Our support article lists cleaning tools other users have found helpful: Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware. The tools are free and take considerable time to run a full scan. If they seem to finish quickly and require payment to clean up, you may have a serious infection. To investigate further, try the specialized forums listed in the article.

By the way, Microsoft's Process Explorer tool could be handy because it often shows relationships between processes, for example, what process is the parent process starting the one you are investigating.
