just go to Tools, Options then General and rid yourself of the horrid Bing by changing Home Page..blank is simplest as it does url or search in the one line.

Some users also will need to remove an extension (or maybe more than one) because extensions can override the built-in settings and change your homepage, search engine, new tab page, and other features.

Solution...for me anyways. Yes I posted as a question...sorry about that. There are a bunch of other solutions...that seem not to work. Mine seems to.
