I have problem in that many pdf file downloads only end up in opening a new blank tab. I've dabbled in the preference settings as some articles suggested, but no joy. What makes it more aggravating is that some pdf files open without a hitch, but about 70% don't. I'm using Mac OSX 10.7.5.
