After doing a Windows System Restore on Windows 7 Pro, I have only the default bookmarks on my "Display your bookmarks" button. In a system backup from a few months ago, I have the Appdata Firefox Profiles folder and files. I have tried replacing the new "empty" Profiles with the old, but without success -- I still have only the default bookmarks. Thanks in advance for your help.

Note that doing a System Restore will likely replace the profiles.ini file and any profiles made after the restore date won't show up or be accessible via the Profile Manager.
If the profiles are still there then you can use the Profile Manager to create a new profile and choose the location of an existing profile (Choose Folder) to re-register the profile.

If you drill down into your backup, can you find one or more bookmarkbackups folders? Those should contain dated backup files with a .json extension. This article describes the steps to restore one of those files. Restoration completely replaces your current bookmarks, but it sounds like you have nothing to lose.

I indicated that this reply is a solution because it sounds plausible. It is a bit "too much information" for me. The other reply I received was simple and easy to follow through on. In any case, thanks very much.
