i have lost firefox and hade to reinstall but all settings are gone. how do I retreive them?

I have had problems with Firefox for several days. When I am within a page I cannot go to a further page within the selected site. Now I have a newly installed version of Firefox and it has no stored information. No bookmarks or passwords. The lost information is important and cannot be recreated. Help

Did you create a new profile or possibly reset Firefox?

When you reset Firefox then a new profile is created and some personal data (bookmarks, history, cookies, passwords, form data) is automatically imported and the current profile folder will be moved to the desktop (Old Firefox Data). You will lose extensions and other customizations (toolbars, prefs) that you've made.

Try to restore the files from the Time Machine

Thanks cor-el I have tried restoring from Time Machine but every restore ends up being a copy of the current Firefox but with an older date.

You need to look for files in the Firefox profile folder and not the Firefox application.
