Two common issues with layout are zoom level and minimum font size. You can reset the zoom level using
View > Zoom > Reset
Since it is difficult to picture the problem, could you create a screenshot and attach it to a reply? This article has suggestions: How do I create a screenshot of my problem?
could you please provide me some information on zoom level?
This article describes Firefox's zoom feature: Font size and zoom - increase the size of web pages. You can zoom the text of a page by holding the Ctrl key (on Windows, it may be a different key on Linux) and using the mouse wheel, so sometimes you may use zoom inadvertently.
I'm not seeing any difference on Linux between Firefox and Google Chrome.
Issues with text overlapping can also be caused by using different (larger) fonts or having a default minimum font size that isn't none.
- Edit > Preferences > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > Minimum Font Size (none)
- Edit > Preferences > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > [X] "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above"
