If you right-click the item in the Downloads list (Ctrl+j to re-open) and choose Open Containing Folder, can you launch it (double-click) from that folder? Keep an eye out for a UAC prompt (Windows 7 installation permission dialog), which sometimes ends up behind your current application.

If Open Containing Folder is grayed out, try downloading to a different location.

Was able to do that. Good directions from you, thanks. I will try the download again tomorrow, when I can retrieve the URL from the manufacturer/Virgin. Question, can I retrieve the link from the download that is in the FireFox download manager at present?

Was able to copy and paste the link to the URL in my "address bar?". Performed download again. I did not see an option of where to save it. Download Mgr. options still grayed out. Observations: 1. downloaded to/open file with Windows Explorer message window appear, just clicked OK. 2. Message notes that file is compressed/.zip file? Does it need to be unzipped to open? If so, how?

That link seems very odd for a device driver. Are you sure Virgin gave you the right link? What kind of router or modem is it?

On the right-click menu, do you have the option to copy the download link?
