alot has installed itself as my home page. How do I restore Firefox/Google as my home page? I have gone thru the suggested routines but unable to restore firefox/google.

I recently inadvertently downloaded firefox updates, which have now installed alot as my home page. I am now unable to regain firefox/google as my home page. This I am not happy with.
