Dual boot as if anew

I am using Firefox on dual boot machine (Windows Vista Ultimate / Linux Mint, latest version). I have shared my profile on Windows partition using a symlink instead of Linux profile folder. There's only one annoying problem: each time I start FF from a different OS than last time, it assumes to be freshly installed, searches for addon updates and displays greeting window. The order of my search engines is also messed up. There are no problems if I always use a single OS. Is there a way to fix this?
