The compatibility function in IE8 allows me to emulate an older version of a browser when software won't work with IE8. I can emulate a different browser when I use Safari 5. Can you do this with Firefox?

You could try the IE Tab Plus or the IE Tab 2 add-on. These add-ons do not emulate IE, but allow you to open IE inside a Firefox tab for sites that do not work in Firefox.

The main difference between the 2 versions of IE Tab is that IE Tab Plus supports the Adblock Plus add-on whilst in IE mode.
