I keep getting alerts that my computer is infected with viruses and to go to a site called antiplus.co.in to fix the problem... is that legitimate? McAfee does not find any viruses when I perform a scan....

That's not coming from Firefox but whatever security software your using giving those notifications.
That looks like malware.
