Kindly look at the picture. It's an error message i got when i refreshed a youtube video. Mozilla keeps crashing after a certain amount of time. And if i refresh it, it keeps saying it has HANDSHAKE problem. Which is weird, since, these sites are actually Youtube, Google search and Gmail. It keeps saying that connection to these sites are not secure. This has been happening for about 4 months now and i don't understand why this is happening.

Now, from the ISP side, i know have problems, ie, the ISP had scammed us and given someone else's IP for 2 months now. So, there are sites like Wordpress, where my IP is banned even though it's not my fault. I can't access my own blogs. However, with Mozilla, unless i use a VPN i can't use normal sites even like Naver.

Now i'm running Mozilla in safe mode. So, please help me, i don't know what's going on. Thanks.

Sorry, for some reason, it is not letting me upload any image. The thing just hangs in "uploading".

Web search; https://www.bing.com/search?q=SSL_ERROR_HANDSHAKE_UNEXPECTED_ALERT There is security software like Avast, Kaspersky, BitDefender and ESET that intercept secure connection certificates and send their own. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-cant-load-websites-other-browsers-can https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-and-other-browsers-cant-load-websites https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/secure-connection-failed-firefox-did-not-connect https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/websites-dont-load-troubleshoot-and-fix-errors What do the security warning codes mean

Hello, i have already checked that firefox-cant-load-sites help page and have done what it has laid out. I've done this about 3 months ago. The problem of Mozilla crashing on Youtube page has been happening since September of last year. But this SSL handshake failure has been happening since January of this year.

I know what the SSL connection error means and usually it will appear for sites that are harmful. But i was just watching Youtube and suddenly when i tried to comment i got an error, refreshing the page gave me that SSL error and further refreshes did nothing. The same thing happens when i go to gmail. i'm typing an email, and all of a sudden everything freezes, which means i have to refresh the page, and viola- SSL error.

Is my laptop hacked or something? Because this has been happening all of a sudden (Jan 21st to be exact), because i was watching a specific video, but from a well known channel, and that's when the first SSL error appeared.

If i clear cookies, and then refresh, then the site comes. Otherwise, no matter how many times i refresh or open another tab and type youtube/gmail/google, NONE of the sites appear. All gives SSL error.

i don't want to disable ssl as was suggested in the search you gave at the top. It took me to a site that showed how to disable SSL, and that's risky imo. I'm writing in another browser because Mozilla had SSL error just as i was about to sign in and answer to you.

You can check the connection settings.

  • Settings -> General -> Network: Connection -> Settings

If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then try to select "No Proxy" if "Use the system proxy settings" or one of the others do not work properly.

See "Firefox connection settings":

i have already done this. It is set to "No Proxy." However, i do not think my problem will be solved. So, please close this thread. It seems i'm stuck with this problem and there's no solution to this.

But thank you for the suggestions. i have already followed all of them as i have mentioned to Mr. Fred above. i have already tried all the steps, 3 months ago but the problem remained. Only since Jan 21st, all of a sudden Mozilla gives SSL errors every half an hour or so. And the errors are particularly given while i'm already engaging in a Youtube video or checking an email, or doing a google search. So these are absolutely safe sites but Mozilla returns an SSL error. i have posted pictures as you can see below:

Like i said, i don't think this problem will be solved. It's very frustrating. And i've been using Firefox for a very long time (must be a decade at this point) and i can't imagine switching to another browser, but it feels like i have no choice. It's a strange problem. i keep getting SSL error on sites that are absolutely safe and secured. I mean these are google sites!! How can there be an SSL connection error for a Google site?? This is beyond my understanding.

Kindly close this thread, my problem has not and will not be solved. Thanks.
