This is strange and just started happening. I size my window the way I want it, then after I close it and reopen Firefox, it gains a few pixels in every direction. After awhile I have to resize again and the process repeats. Any known fix for this? Thanks

Hi, I discovered what is causing the issue.

Windows text size has been set to 110% for over a year on this computer. I set it to 100% and it fixed the issue.

I only noticed this change in Firefox with the latest update though, so it's not playing well with that Windows text setting. Seems that extra 10% was making the window grow with each opening somehow. Chrome is also working fine now.

Anyway, all is well. Thank you

Separate Security Issue, please update your Flash 28.0 r0 by removing it with this tool : https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html If you use it Reinstall with Flash Player Version: 31.0.0.108 Current Version https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/ Step 1: Select Operating System Step 2: Select A Version (Firefox, . . . .) Note: Other software is offered in the download. <Windows Only>

HI, in the 3 Bar Menu what is Zoom Set at and are you using the arrows (corner to corner) in the menu to resize or manually ?

Hi, Zoom is set to 100% and I never use that. I only resize with mouse drag at corners, so manually.

Maybe try to create a new desktop shortcut in case there is a problem with the one you currently use and set this shortcut to read-only.

Try to rename/remove xulstore.json and if present delete localstore.rdf in the Firefox profile folder with Firefox closed.

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.

Hi cor-el, I tried everything you said and still the same result.

However, I thought I'd test other windows, and it seems Chrome does this also, just not as much. So maybe this isn't a Firefox issue.

FYI, Windows explorer windows are fine though.

My first reply was meant to address issues on the OS level to prevent changes to the window dimensions getting saved in the shortcut. Firefox stores its window data in xulstore.json , but setting this file to read-only is not a good idea.

This should be fixed in Firefox 62.0.2, so try to update and see if it works with the 110% setting.

Hi cor-el, I've updated to 62.0.2 and tried the Windows text to 110% again.

I'm using a grid wallpaper to see what changes. The top left is now stationary, but bottom right continues to grow. However, if I bottom out to taskbar the top will then grow. Same with right extents and the left started to grow.
