Hello. I'm from Australia and I recently purchased a ZTE Open C. I wanted to try Android on it and I installed it to do exactly that. I went back to Firefox OS to discover my 3G won't work, even though it did with the stock version of Firefox. I'm on the Optus network. I have a feeling it has something to do with my APN settings but I can't fix it.

Hi AnthonyDickens,

I'm sorry to hear that you're having issues with your ZTE Open C after re-flashing it with a Firefox OS image.

Can you please list the exact steps or instructions you used to perform the porting of your device from Firefox OS to Android, and then back to Firefox OS? Please provide a link to the image files you used as well.

In the meantime, you may attempt the following APN settings listed on the Optus support site:

Please let us know if this solves your issue, or if you have any other question about your Firefox OS device.

Thanks,

- Ralph

Hi, Ralph. This was the site where I got the Android image from. I installed it using the OPEN C UPGRADE TOOL. To go back to Firefox, I used ADB sideload to install a zip called "EU_Firefox+to+Android.zip". I went through numerous websites to find the roms and instructions on how to use them, so I am unfortunately unable to tell you exactly where I got some of the zips from. If you are able to recommend me a rom that works with Optus Australia or instructions on how to fix my current rom, feel welcome to do so. I'm fine with experimenting with the phone. Also, the Optus site has an automatic APN configuration that gets sent to your phone and you input a code and press accept. When I press accept, the phone freezes and does nothing. Here is a link to the online tool I used. Thank you for replying. Message me or reply to this thread whenever you find a solution. Thank you. :)

Hi AnthonyDickens,

Thank you for this additional information - it is very helpful.

Are you able to insert the APN information manually? To do this, go into Settings > Cellular & Data > Select the correct SIM > APN Settings.

Please lay around with a few different values of APN as listed o Optus' website.

I've tried and I can't seem to get any working. If it helps, I'm on pre-paid $2 Days Plan with Optus.

Also, as far as I know, my calls & texts work. The only thing that doesn't work is my mobile data.

Has someone come up with a resolution as of yet?
