My thunderbird email is linked to my Virgin media email. Suddenly Thunderbird has stopped working, so cant send or receive messages. Any ideas - the virgin email is working fine.

Back in 2016, via GoDaddy I set up a personal domain. As part of the package, they offered to host two email addresses using that domain. I set up both in Thunderbird.

In June 2022 GoDaddy asked that all such accounts be switched to Microsoft Exchange, which I did with one of the two.

Very recently, perhaps with the recent Thunderbird upgrade, that account--and its sub-folders--have disappeared from Thunderbird. I need to restore them.

From that moment it could not communicate with my imap server and I cannot renew my account with the server.

I now have to use webmail.

Can I please go back to the immediate predecessor as that has worked well.

After years without problems, Thunderbird suddenly started locking up when I try to insert an image into a new message. There is no error alert; the message just completely locks so that I have to force task to end. Until a couple of weeks ago, I was able to insert files stored on my computer or copied from browser with no problem at all. [Not talking about a signature, just an image. Emojis work fine]

Am not aware of changing anything. Running Windows 11 Home version 23H2, if that helps anyone explain what's happening. Thunderbird version 115.5.0 (64-bit)

Haven't tried un/reinstalling TBird as want first to see if there's an easier solution (have several accounts).

I have faced with the following bug linked to messages displaying in thread in any section of Thunderbird (i.e., Incoming messages). See the screenshot - there is just thin white stripe instead of text of the message. This bug repeats only for some random messages. Restart of Thunderbird resolves this bug temporarily.

When I use a html signature with graphics, the recipients who can not receive Html, do ot receive the grafics, obviously, but also not any other attachment like a PDF file. The same is sent but not received! in other words, our customer complain that we forgot the attachment, but we did not. If I resend without the signature, they receive the PDF file. If I reply with an attachment and have a previous signature with grafics in the feed, the attachement also disapears. The only solution is no grphics in the signature, but that is not a solution, just a quick fix. Thank you very much for your replies.

Hello, Thunderbird user daily for years. Lately every time I open Thunderbird it starts downloading a random number of emails, usually in the thousands. this makes the app extremely slow and laggy until it finishes. I use it daily, on avg getting 20-30 emails. I don't understand why its downloading emails form months to years ago.

I have just switched to Thunderbird from Gmail. Have tried several times to send bulk emails but always get this message:

Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: We have detected an unusual amount of suspicious mail originating from this address. Please try again later.. Please check the message and try again.

I have a need to send emails frequently to more than one address and this is going to be most inconvenient if it can't be fixed. Is there a setting somewhere?

Granted, I have massive boxes...but in my Sent folder, I checked a mail sent just this morning and wanted to right click it to 'edit as a new message'...however, when it opens, the content is related to a different email and the sendto email is also from a different email. Is there a way to clean up something like this? I shut down TB and waited and reopened and the issue stays the same.

The Not Responding stuff, plus this, has me looking for an alternative.

I have observed this behavior for a number of releases - currently running 115.4.2 (32-bit). TB doesn't seem to download, or at least process, a graphic within an email until I actually open it. The display can take what seems like a while. I have a relatively fast (deskside) system, lots of memory/disc, GB ethernet, and would like all graphics to be processed when the email is first downloaded instead of waiting. I don't see any setting to change this. Any suggestions appreciated.

Hi everyone! Apologies upfront in case this question has already been asked, but I'm struggling to see if something similar was already posted... In a nutshell: I delete messages in my inbox (or any other folder) in Thunderbird, but when I login to the website of my mail provider (gmx.net) or check the app on my phone, I still see these mails on the imap server. Is this a known issue? What could be the reason?

I have used Juno for one of my email accounts since it was first introduced in the 1990s. More recently, I have learned to use Juno's POP and SMTP servers, however in recent years some issue developed between Juno and Mozilla/Thunderbird, wherein TB will not place a message sent through Juno in the Sent or Drafts folder (as applicable) on the Juno server(s), forcing TB to use separate local folders instead. For incoming mail, I use server pop.juno.com on port 995 with SSL/TLS security and encrypted-password authentication. For outgoing mail, I use server smtp.juno.com on port 465. Every time I send mail, the following messages appear: There is not enough disk space to download new messages. Try deleting old mail, emptying the Trash folder, and compacting your mail folders, and then try again. which is inaccurate, given I have a considerable-sized hard drive (500 GB), plus multiple USB drives with much more space... then comes: Your message was sent but a copy was not placed in your sent folder (Sent) due to network or file access errors. You can retry or save the message locally to Local Folders/Sent-bob.in.jersey@juno.com. with the choice of buttons Retry, Save, or Don't Save. Please do something about this, or tell me what I need to do to ensure that the messages go to where they're supposed to go. Thanks.

Email that I am sending from Thunderbird is being rejected for no apparent reason by the recipient server. This is not due to an ISP or sending server security issue since, when I send exactly the same email from my ISP email web page (not Thunderbird) the email is received properly and accepted without error. So, the problem is most definitely with Thunderbird. The following is the header text from one of the rejection replies.

This morning I suddenly could not send emails from Thunderbird. I contacted my ISP (Plusnet) and they demonstarted that if I used webmail I could send emails and they concluded there was a problem with thunderbird. They suggested removing my account and re-inputting it - which I did. Not only did this not answer the problem but all my folders to which I have moved messages have all disappeared. This is a huge problem for me. Are they all in the cloud? is there anyway I can retrieve them?
