The question is simple. Why am I not able to choose where to install Thunderbird? I've tried running the install file as administrator and that had no effect. I'd just like to install the program somewhere other than my C: drive. Why is this not possible?

Hello, Thank you for all your work. I've been a loyal Thunderbird user for several years now and I really like the features of TB. However the update to version 102.6.1 is not doing well.

Please forgive me, as there are a lot of questions below. But this issue is really important to me.

Here are my concerns: 1. I've stopped the automatic update of TB using your settings.

2. The email portion seems to work well - and thank you.

3. But the Address Book portion is really BAD. I cannot display all the information for an address. The data is not present. ** I need a functioning address book. **

4. The list of Address Books (I have three now) is present but the panel on the left is too large, and cannot be adjusted.

I've exported the contents of these address books to LDIF and CSV files as a backup.

5. Trying to delete or move multiple addresses does not work. I'm trying to select multiple addresses, as with Windows - hold the Shift key at the top and bottom.

6. Also after selecting an address, it is really difficult to get back to the full list.

7. IMPORTANT - can I install an earlier version of TB WITHOUT losing information.?

8. I found the Cardbook addon, but it will not work. It will not load my existing address books into Cardbook. The add-on author has tried to help, but has not succeeded yet.

9. I've read the various entries the TB forum and other sites via Google.

10. Ready to jump back to Outlook - which I don't want to do. Maybe not?

11. Please point me to an earlier version of TB that works better than v.102.

Again, sorry for all these questions. I've spent hours trying to fix this issue. Hope you can help.


I cannot get my existing address books to load into Cardbook. Where are the controls to do so? How does one synchronize then?

I hope that you can solve what I'm doing wrong with CardBook. I'm not a newbie, actually a retired SysAdmin and a serious Windows 10 user.

Hi. I have been using Thunderbird successfully with my email account for years. Recently a new problem has appeared. Generally, if I create a subfolder in Thunderbird I see it in the Comcast webmail, and vice versa. Sometimes, however, it doesn't carry through. I have some that are visible in webmail but don't show up in Thunderbird. I have removed and re-added the account to Thunderbird. Still they don't show up. I have checked with Comcast Support and they say that the account is fine. Is there something I can do to fix this? Thanks for any help you can offer.

Dear all, I've noticed a similar, rather serious problem with Thunderbird, first using it on MacBook Pro, now using ThinkPad with Windows 11 Pro. The Thunderbird used is 102.6.1 (64 bits).

The problem: a mail read and moved from Inbox to another folder, gets overwritten by another mail saved in the same folder. Overwritten is only the content, while in the list of mails in the folder the sender, subject and date are still different. Overwriting does not happen when either of mails is moved to the destination folder, but at a later time. I don't think I can reproduce mail management that I did at the time the error happens, however I do not think I did anything strange. It is true that my email structure consists of around 100 folders with thousands of emails (unfortunate byproduct of my job description).

I guess I do not need to state how serious this potential bug (or my mistake, perhaps...) is. The first time I attributed it to a perhaps non-perfect compatibility of Mac version of the Thunderbird with its OS, however the error being repeated at two different systems rules this out.

Clearly the suggestions (or requests for further info) are welcome.

I have used message filters for some years with complete success. Recently when an email is moved by a filter, either on initial receipt or on manual run, the message appears in the correct folder okay but is not removed from the inbox. i.e. it appears in both. If I delete it from the inbox it gets deleted from the folder as well. !! I am not aware of having changed any settings. Can anyone explain where I'm going wrong, please? John

My OS is Linux Mint 20.3 Una base: Ubuntu 20.04 focal Thunderbird version 102.4.2 (64-bit) "Today" marker does not advance to current calendar day after midnight of the previous calendar day in monthly view. The monthly view is the only view I use. If the < Today > link at the top of the calendar is mouse-clicked, it does not advance to the current day but remains on the previous day. To advance the day marker I have to click either "<" for previous month or ">" for the next month and then click Today. At that point the calendar will return to the current month and highlight the current day. This problem was also present on a previous version of LM (18.3) My add-ons are: Cardbook v. 83.6 ConfirmBeforeDelete v. 1.7.0 Lightening Calendar Tabs v. 2.8 Provider for CalDAV & CardDAV v. 4.3 TaskviewFlexLayout v. 62.9

There are two disabled extensions which could be uninstalled as they have been disable "since dirt was young,": TabAddressBook ToDo.txt Both were automatically disabled by Thunderbird due to incompatibility and I have no further need for them The active extensions are used with regularlity. This is a "livible" problem but but an irritation. Searches with multiple search engines have turned up nothing on this issue since 2020 and/or v. 68 of Tbird. Thank you in advance for any assistance you may provide on this issue. Mozilla software has bee my default software of choice, also "since dirt was young," and for what it's worth (which is very little) I check viable alternatives virtually every six months to see what your "competition" has to offer. Particularly, your configurational granularity is STELLAR! Once again, thanks!

Apparemment c'est smtp quil faudrait enlever. Merci pour votre aide
