Is customizing alert sounds for different contacts possible for Thunderbird 115.6.1? I see a couple of add-ons, but none seem to work with this version.

How many times per day, and over a period of how many years, will it be necessary to tell Mozilla Thunderbird Email that I DO NOT want Mozilla Thunderbird Email to:

Read, compose, send, and permanently delete all my email from Gmail

I have installed TB on a new device and want to set up my mail accounts with only the last 3 months mail for each one.

I understand the IMAP account settings for "Synchronization & Storage" & "Disk Space" where indeed you can set the download by size or time.

The problem is that those settings are only accessible once the mail account is set up.

The mail account set up itself initiates the download of all mail from the server the instant the account is set up which is then not adjustable until after that initial download is complete.

i.e. there appears to be no way to stop the entire mailbox from the server being downloaded.

Does anyone know a way to time limit that initial download or indeed prevent any initial download until the account settings can be used to do so?

Hello, Linux environment is running on my chromebook, thunderbird has been installed. 2 issues: - When I try to install an extension, I always get a message "This extension will have permission to have unlimited access to thunderbird and the computer". and I'm stuck. The add button does not trigger any action. This does the same thing if I want to install a dictionary from the settings. - I have no access shared folders like my Drive on my Chromebook, despite having Linux sharing enabled. How do we get contact icon photos to show in the inbox/message list? I can't find any options to toggle them on to see/view them in the inbox section (alongside the sender info). Thanks

For some reason, the preview pane changed. I didn't knowingly make any adjustments but I may have. The sender, subject, received date, etc used to be on the same line in the preview pane. Now is shows Subject and who its from, one below the other.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can reverse this back to the way it was?

I have used Thunderbird with no problems for a decade. Now it works on startup and if I keep the tab open, but if I exit Thunderbird, clicking on the icon does not re-open it. Then I have to restart in order for Thunderbird to open. Once open it works fine. Something has changed to prevent Thunderbird from re-opening via the icon. Could you please suggest what is causing the problem and how to fix it. I am using Windows 10. Thank you

Hello, i found this instructions: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/message-list-columns on how to Apply my curent column to all my folders and it works on my private email account where i have 10 folders but if i try it on my work email where i have about 300 folders it doesn't. So after little bit of serching i found i can change "mailnews.default_view_flags" ind config editor to 0=unthreaded, and that worked on all my folders. Is there command i can use to change oder in my column? Or some other way to fix this?

Dear Thunderbird Team, When launched, the program begins to update previously downloaded mail at one of the email addresses. How can I disable this so that it only downloads new messages?

Hello I can't see my old emails in my inbox. I couldn't find a setting to show all emails. Only those from the last two weeks are shown to me. Do you know my problem? Thank you very much for your short feedback.

Mine just shows a yellow header but doesn't put it into the junk folder. I have it marked in preferences to put junk in the junk folder, but it only works if it doesn't know it's junk and I click that it's junk.
