For some reason, occasionally Thunderbird crashes when I click on the button/link to send me to my healthcare chart - not always - and indiscriminately. For example, I can automatically get logged in to my health care chart 3 times in a row via that link, but the third time I click on a similar link (from the same provider for the same account) Tbird will crash.

Any ideas of why this happens and suggestions for fixes? Thank you very much for any help!

Oh, P.S. I also can't figure out how to change my email on here, lol. but I'm still receiving emails at my earthlink address so far. Any advice on how to update my email address would also be welcome. (I tried edit profile but nada...) Thank you!! Kelly

I'm trying to setup Thunderbird for my Google Workplace account. 1. In the default settings, I receive the error message 'Profile not found' when I try and add my Outlook .PST file 2. I can't see how to access Profile Manager so I've started Thunderbird from the command line, activating the Profile manager, i.e. Thunderbird -p. When I add a profile and try and access my Google gmail I receive an error that the configuration server could not be found. Note point 1 where the same account was setup correctly but in the default 'no profile'.

When I open Thunderbird Mail on my laptop the settings for updates is set to automatically update. I have to change it every time I start it up as it won't stay on check for updates but let me update! What is the problem?

For some unknown reason my incoming emails have started to go straight into my deleted folder instead of my inbox, i have not changed anything so do not understand why? how do i rectify this issue. thank you, john.

About a week ago,m Thunderbird seemed to have trouble with my email password. I would close the app then open again and it would log in and download new messages. Now when I open Thunderbird it does nothing. I cannot download new messages at all. I am not that literate with these issues. I do not know which version I have.

I use Thunderbird's Message Filters to sort my incoming mail. I have about 31 filters, some of which are long ("Delete Junk" and "Advertisements" are two, which OR many domains and send mail directly to trash or a specific "Adverts" folder). I also use several Linux computers and run Thunderbird on each computer for connecting to my GMail account (IMAP). I like to synchronize my filters between my Linux hosts. I've been pointed to the file for copying filters between hosts: HOME/.thunderbird/MyProfile/ImapMail/imap.googlemail.com/msgFilterRules.dat

Copying that file between hosts (or using it as a backup after SNAP damaged my profile again) only partially works. The filter name, action, etc copies alright, but when triggered, the filter fails as the "folder" does not exist. Of course, the folder still exists and has for a long time. The following is a log entry from such a failing for a "magazine" entry for "Aeon".

The entry in msgFilterRules.dat reads as follows after the failure: name="Aeon magazine" enabled="no" type="17" action="Move to folder" actionValue="imap://mdalphin%40gmail.com@imap.gmail.com/Maillists/Aeon" condition="AND (from,ends with,aeon.co)"

A "diff" from a saved version of the file that worked shows that it is identical except for "enabled".

This failure happens to 100% of my filters - the "actionValue" is not recognized as I move the file between hosts or different profiles. I need to re-select the desired folder in the drop-down list of "Move to:" in the "Edit Filter" dialog.

Any idea on what is going wrong? It is as if there is some cache of recognized Imap folders that have unique IDs on a per host basis. Is there anyway I could make this copying work better without need to restore each of the 31 folders every time I make a copy?

Have always set up accounts so they download all messages to hard drive.

Since 3/27/25, it is as if it never officially logs the downloads as downloaded, so it downloads each day as if it hasn't been done since 3/27/25, marking all of the messages since then as new.

File is very large so want to try fixing without deleting entire file.

Tried the 'repair this folder' but that didn't work.

Having trouble identifying the exact folder on the hard drive to delete since there are several different accounts in the Thunderbird setup.

Dear Team After Updating from 102.15.1 (32Bit) to 115.28.0 (32Bit) I can not connect to the provider "pop.hispeed.ch" anymore. Ping pop.hispeed.ch (on CMD) shows normal raction of beeing reachable with a "reply from xxxx.". I am on Windows 7 SP1. I have checked several times all setting POP and SMTP, switched off Firewall, uninstalled virus scanner, and and and many more (all knowledge found on internet..). Pressing the "Get Message" button in the upper menue bar shows no raction when pressed. The icon "Get Message" on the left side of the button "+ New Message" results in a none moving blue status bar at the right bottom of the window. After a while with the message "timed out.. ".In the settings "Config Editor.." the values of "mailnews.tcptimeout" are set to "300", and "true". I am using TB since donkey years with many many eMails. Are the lost? Have used Mozilla for about 30 years without too much trouble. However, I have been unable to receive emails since Monday and wonder what problem is. It worked fine Sunday evening Did send a test to my freenetname address which arrived so not sure whether problem is only outwards mail.

I had to do a clean install of my Mac. Recovered my Thunderbird settings from Time Machine, but for some reason the mail view now looks like this. How can I get the message list looking like it did, without such thick rows?

I have to use a Microsoft365 account for work, and I was lucky enough to obtain the possibility of connecting to it via imap.

Thunderbird filters work for all my other imap accounts, but not for the M365. I'm wondering if others are experiencing and and if there is a solution/workaround.

As per this support article (under "Archiving messages"), Thunderbird by default archives to Gmail's "All Mail" folder to match Gmail's behavior. This makes sense.

In the same article, it's recommended to unsubscribe from the "All Mail" folder for Gmail accounts. This also makes sense. However, after doing so, performing the Archive action on an email in Thunderbird causes it to resubscribe to All Mail.

More generally, unsubscribing from the target of "Other" in the "message archives" setting for the account will cause the setting to be unspecified (i.e. point to "Choose Folder"), after which the Archive action seems to use the last-specified target, re-subscribing to it if currently unsubscribed.

1. Is this the desired/expected behavior of the message archives settings? 2. For users who do wish to retain the habit of "Gmail archiving" (to keep the Inbox clean without managing specific labels/folders to move each message to), does the "unsubscribe from 'All Mail'" recommendation imply a recommendation to specify a new Thunderbird folder (= Gmail label) for this, e.g. the usual ' "Archives" Folder in:' option?

Hi, I am getting a message asking for password, when I enter password which is correct I get the message

I need step by step setting up Protonmail to Thunderbird. I had this set up before but it stopped working. I know my emails and their corresponding passwords are good because I have access on the web. I am getting "unable to log in at server. Probably wrong configuration, username or password" When I try to put my newest address in. Not only do I know that my passwords for my emails are correct, but I also have a copy of the screenshot of the configurations from when I set it up before: Imap, hostname, port, username, password security. I use this to double check when I go into the Manual configuration account setup. The other error I get is "login to server 127.0.0.1 with username Grammy14@proton.me failed." This email had been working just fine until April 19. I love Thunderbird's set up when it works, and I donate regularly. I have been working on this for a week now. It would be great to get live help. I would gladly pay for the help. It would be nice have that option.

There is a bug in the Thunderbird Newsreader which affects composing replies to messages.

After clicking the Followup button and attempting to reply to a newsgroups message in the middle of quoted text if you click on enter to create a new line in the middle of the quoted text, type the first words of the reply and then delete a miss-typed character Thunderbird will add a new line to the bottom of the quoted text above your signature. If you delete more characters it will add more new lines to the bottom and then finally if you delete the new line you entered it will move the typing prompt to the bottom of the quoted text after the extra new lines it previously added.

This bug is present in 138.0 (64-bit) and in the previous version and the version before that and probably earlier versions too. The big did not exist in version 115.8.1.

Hi. When I send an email to a single address that isn't in my address book, I get a yellow warning at the bottom of the Write: panel saying that the 247 recipients in To and Cc will see each other's address. The sent email shows the one address, in fact, so it looks like it works as expected, but why do I get the warning? If I address the message to someone in my address book, I don't get the warning.
