Current Thunderbird Version

According to Help>About Thubderbird the current version is 115. But searches in my browser tells me the latest version is 105. Am I not searching deep enough? Thanks… (читать ещё)

Classic view option missing in TB 115.6

I have TB 115.6.0 running on 3 computers (1 desktop and 2 laptops). On 2 computers there is a tiny icon on the right hand side in the menu bar that allows me to switch be… (читать ещё)

I have TB 115.6.0 running on 3 computers (1 desktop and 2 laptops). On 2 computers there is a tiny icon on the right hand side in the menu bar that allows me to switch between the "new and improved" (but utterly horrible), side by side message list and the classic view.

On the laptop I am currently using to write this request, TB 115.6.0 does not have that wonderful little icon and I am condemned to use the side by side display or find another mail client.

Can someone help me find or restore that little icon that gives me a choice or alternatively lets me change the message list display back to its old useful configuration?


As an aside, why do software developers insist on making "improvements" that no one needs or wants?

Hi, I am looking for some help. I am using Windows 10, Comcast internet, and a VPN. I get error message when my VPN is on saying that my IP Address has bee blacklisted and I can not send or receive emails using Thunderbird. I also get an error within Thunderbird. My VPN Service says its either Comcast or Thunderbird. Been working with Comcast on the issue. Could it be a Thunderbird issue? My VPN Service says to reinstall Thunderbird but no guaranties that will help. Please let me know if there are any solutions I can try. Otherwise I may need to pay more for a dedicated IP Address. Thanks Marc

Hi. I have tried to set up my gmail email addresses in Thunderbird without success. When I reach the end of the process I get a window asking me to log into gmail but when I try to do that I get an error message. I have tried some of the fixes. Not entering my password, turning off 2 factor authentication, manual set up, but I still get the error message. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Close down freezes

After updating to Thunderbird 115.10.0 (64-bit) the Exit freezes. I have to kill the app in Task manager every time I want to exit Thunderbird.

Hello There all So I recently installed Win11 and Tbird 115.7.0

My issue is this: When I double click a PDF in a received email it opens up in my default PDF reader (Foxit) so it's all good. When I'm composing an email and add a PDF I like to check to see that I'm sending the correct PDF attachment so I double click and it won't open, I get this message (Attached Image) I went to Tools/Settings/General/Files&Attachments and PDF (Foxit) is set as the default so all good

So again Inbox messages opens PDF's no problem Composing messages won't open PDF's

I used to do this all the time on Win10 and it worked perfectly See my settings in image 2 Thanks In Advance :-)

yesterday afternoon, I noticed a change in my side bar showing the folders. I checked the junk folder, and it was empty. I had left some emails there. I generally have as many as 30 in there some of which get blocked, but some I need. i looked at settings and it was set to delete junk. I changed to move to junk folder. Today, there is nothing in junk. Also, my sent folder is empty. I use that almost daily. I need my emails back.

For many years, my wife and I have each used Thunderbird on our own computers. Several weeks ago, when my wife turned Thunderbird on, a new screen appeared that mentioned account setup and directed her to set up her existing email address. When she did, a home screen appeared that was significantly different than the one she had been using. But more than that, she lost all her saved emails and Thunderbird started to reload emails. The reloading ended with over 1800 “new” emails whose dates reached back for almost a year. Since then, after some work, the home page has been returned to its earlier look; downloading, sending and deleting are working as before. Missing are a few important, personal subfolders. We’ve tried a few things that we thought/hoped would return us to the point before everything went crazy. That hasn’t happened. Recently, we looked at the Profiles folder on each of our computers and saw something that, I think, is unusual and, I hope, might provide a way get her back at least some of what was lost.

The route to my Profiles is C: > Users > Me > AppData > Roaming > Thunderbird > Profiles In Profiles are two folders, one ends with .default and the other with .default-release. The only thing in the default folder is the file times.json. The default-release folder contains many files and folders, including the Mail folder. The Mail folder contains two subfolders: Local Folders and mail.comcast.net.

On my wife’s computer, there is only one folder inside Profiles. The name ends in .default. Inside that folder is the Mail folder. Within the Mail folder are six subfolders: Local Folders, Local Folders-1, Local Folders-2, mail.comcast.net, mail.comcast.net-1, mail.comcast.net-2. The Date Modified date for Local Folders is probably the date the problem started. Date Modified for Local Folders-1, mail.comcast.net and mail.comcast.net-1 is the same: a few days after the date for Local Folders. The dates for Date Modified for Local Folders-2 and mail.comcast.net-2 are the same, and change daily.

I’m hoping/assuming that the missing, personal subfolders are in one, or more, of Local Folders, Local Folders-1, mail.comcast.net, mail.comcast.net-1. What I’m asking here is: does anyone know of a way to easily locate and recover the subfolders and, then, move them into the correct location in Local Folders-2and/or mail.comcast.net-2.

I only just noticed this today. I forwarded a message 10 hours ago and it worked fine, but no it will not.

I installed TB last July onto a Win11 laptop and migrated all my WLM to it. All has gone great until a day or so ago when my Inbox, Sent, and other folders started to not show Subjects and Correspondents even though the emails were there. The Date column fills in as it should. The columns are there; they are just empty. They were empty all day yesterday. At some point today about a half dozen popped up, but only in the Inbox. I tried searching the web for a solution but have had no luck. Most hits are about missing columns. Anyone have any ideas about what I can try? Thank you. - Dean

I've been using TB since the beginning. But now I have a zillion entries in my various address books and would like to consolidate them into a single, non-duplicated collection. Hello, Everything was working well until Thunderbird updated to version 115. Now I get the "Login to server failed notice. I believe I have tried everything. I read all the help topics on the Thunderbird site, scoured google and youtube, and tried everything short of just moving to Outlook or something else. I even tried to revert back to an earlier version v102 but got the same failed notice. My Thunderbird program is stored on my Windows PC. I don't use an email client like gmail or outlook. Any help would be much appreciated. I'm running 3 email accounts and if I can't get this to work I'll probably have to switch all the email accounts. Thanks very much for your help.

I very very recently upgraded to Windows 11, but even though I have Firefox and Thunderbird running with no problem, when I click on an email address on a website, instead of going to Thunderbird, I get some Windows email app that I never saw when just a month ago when I was still using windows 10 clicking on an email address would bring me right to Thunderbird. How can I get Windows 11 to use Thunderbird and only Thunderbird. I am not a techie, so if you know a solution, please be as clear as possible. Thank you.

I'm wondering if they are sent like that, what the receiver will see and if there is a way to prevent it.

The email account is using IMAP and as far as I know it happen just to that specific email account. The emails are sent using Thunderbird. I'm using the latest version of Windows on a laptop. I'm using the following Thunderbird extensions (latest versions): - Compact Headers - Send Later - Mailmindr - Quicktext

New versions of Thunderbird has a default layout with organize by conversation selected. I prefer not to use such view and uncheck the tick so all messages are shown in a list. On the main screen it works just fine but when I use "show in a conversation" command on a message it opens in a new window where view layout is default again. I can switch to list view, but whenever I open this or any other conversation it opens with a default view again.

Can anyone provide any help or insight as to why Thunderbird is sooooo determined to show me all of my 10 year old emails first? I have followed the documentation to change the order of emails shown but its still puts emails from 2013 right there at the top. Additionally, can anyone provide any insight as to why, and I do mean WHY, folks who are sharp enough to code an email client for commercial release are simultaneously so dull that they don't realize that setting the out of the box default sort settings of that email client to show oldest emails first is a misguided choice at best.
