I've tried almost EVERYTHING offered to enable restore the "open previous windows and tabs" function ... to no avail. Very frustrating since I usually leave important tabs open for work. HELP!

It didn't, not always. Over the years, there have been times when the issue would still pop up, but not as often as before (2022 and earlier).

I have a feeling that during an issue, FF is having difficulty setting up shop after starting up. Consequently, it is spending more time before it could become prepared to connect to the Net. I've come up with another "solution," which is deleting (or moving out) xulstore.json in the profile folder after exiting or before starting FF. You can create a batch command or script to execute the process.

So far, FF is connecting immediately after startup.

Hi! I am trying to have a biometric authorization with touch ID on Mac, and it says on the website that the option should pop up when i go to the password settings, but it doesn't, and I don't know how to do it otherwise, or if I should use an extension for example. Hello, I am running Ubuntu 22.04 (Firefox v 121.0) on a custom PC. Ryzen 5700G, 32GB Ram, 2TB Storage, and a Radeon RX 580 (just to give some insight into the system in case it is useful). I use multiple mozilla services and haven't had many issues up until now. Everytime I open Firefox it immediately it fires right up, the moment I try to open a tab, search, etc.. it begins to lag. It will then freeze the browser and my entire PC soon follows suit. I have had to hard reset the PC about 3 times now. I originally had the snap version installed and thought that installing the deb package would fix the issue. I completely uninstalled the snap version and turned off unattended installations in case the system tried to reinstall the snap. I then installed the deb package and fired it up again, only to have the same issue. I have ruled out a couple of things on my end. I entered Firefox Safe Mode and unchecked all of my extensions (the only ones I run are Ublock, Bitwarden, and Relay). I ran a mem test and have been monitoring Psensor to ensure the CPU wasn't overheating (both of these tests were fine). I also scanned my entire PC to ensure I did not have any viruses (clamscan reported no viruses). I have been running my PC for about an hour now without starting Firefox and using Chrome, and I have had no issues with freezing or anything similar to what happened with Firefox. Not sure where to go from here. I love using Firefox and would love to get back to surfing as soon as possible! Any tips/help would be greatly appreciated! PS I could not find any logs about the session. I looked in ~/.mozilla/firefox/Crash Reports/events and couldn't find anything. If there is another place they are stored let me know and I would be happy to send them. I just don't want to open Firefox until I feel it is safe for my PC.

I forgot to add: I disabled hardware acceleration as well, did not fix the issue.

can anyone of you test chat open ai com with linux 32 bits?

for more than 5-7 months its been unusable. it completely freeze. I recently reported this to open ai devs and they tried to do something. Now page responds is in 20-60 seconds range.

means, I open website, i wait 20-60 seconds to load. I ask chat gpt something, i wait 20-60 to actually type my messsage (for my message to be printed after I hit enter). then i refresh page (because nothing moves), wait 20-60 secs to load page and I see the reply.

and yes, each time I was always trying to do with latest version of browser. and I also tried it on a new browser without any extension.

I have a video, I can only share it private with firefox devs if helps.

the reason I didn't reported this last year, was because I got extremely disappointed and unhappy.

it initially started by showing that button-bar at the top, telling that page load slow and to [stop]. by the next month it became worst than 2000's dialup internet, so I stopped using it

I have been getting the "new version available, download now nag for over 2 weeks, and I have the latest version. Still get this issue repeatedly every day. Starting to become an every hour nag to update and install latest version of Firefox. Refuse to use Microsoft Edge or Chrome, and will switch off Firefox too if not rectified.

This has been happening for months now, on multiple devices (I have tried at least 3 different devices), and on multiple networks.

I have read the articles in here, but they just want me to check network configuration which is exactly the same for all browsers.

If I restart firefox it starts working again.

How can I prevent it from breaking randomly? This is the only browser having issues, I'm almost positive is some bug and not a configuration thing, given that it happens under multiple circumstances and devices, while Edge and Chrome simply keep working just fine.

There is no consistent repro I can give, afaik it is just random, at some point Firefox just decides to stop working and I have to restart it. This disrupts my work and browsing activities as I can lose progress on input forms and similar actions.

So with Google becoming an increasingly terrible company over the years I once again decided to try to move away from chromium based browsers and over to Firefox, but I'm still having the same problem as I did when I first tried. I have since found the source of the problem, or rather a more exact explanation of what is going on, but I still can not find a solution. Basically when I compare the audio of the same YouTube video while logged into the same account with the same settings the audio quality on chromium browsers seems better. After some testing I figured out that it has to do with Logitech's G Hub surround sound option. Using Logitech's surround sound on headsets that support it, the Pro X2 in my case, will change the audio quality by quite a lot, in my opinion it sounds better. The problem is that this change doesn't seem to have an effect when using Firefox.

Is this a known issue and if yes, is there a solution?

All of the files I try to download fail immediately. Even extensions will not download on firefox. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and checked the download location. Downloads work on other browsers such as Chrome fine but nothing will download on Firefox.

I have Startparge set as my default search engine. I used to type directly into the address bar (see first image).

Press Enter, and the Startpage results page for this search phrase would show up. Somehow, this has now changed. I press Enter, but the result is just the Startpage home page, with a blank search box (see second image). So I then have to type the same phrase in again in Startpage's own box. This just trips me up.

The crazy thing is that this only happens sometimes - but more often than not. I haven't seen it work right for weeks: I just did it now to make screenshots, and it worked wrong. I just did it again and it worked as expected: pressing Enter took me to Startpage's results.

Any clues how to change settings to fix this?

I like to split windows so I can have running YouTube videos on the left half of the screen and browsing the web on the right. If I open another site on the right side of the screen that has multimedia (ESPN, CNN, IMDB), the video freezes on the YouTube window but audio continues to play without issue.

I have done the following troubleshooting steps:

• Hardware acceleration turned off/on
• cleared cookies/cache
• A few About:config fixes

Videos don't have a problem running if I open YouTube with Chrome and continue to use Firefox for surfing.

For the past few months every restart of Firefox disables LastPass. I did NOT have this problem previously. The version of LastPass is current (no updates found). I can go to Add-ons and the toggle is set to "on" but the icon in the menu bar is black. If I click the toggle off, then back on, LastPass comes on just fine. Why is Firefox disabling something that Add-ons says is loaded? VERY strange. Does NOT happen in Chrome. Thanks for any assistance. PITB!!!

Hello, In old versions of Firefox picture-in-picture mode was "always on top" by default, now "always on top" mus to be enabled every time I pop-out every video. Is there any solution to make picture-in-picture mode "always on top" by default?

when updating to latest firefox browser, all my tabs are gone. "Restore tabs" is not appearing as an option.

1 - any troubleshooting tips? 2 - does this happen everytime when updating firefox?

I have:

125.0 (64-bit) Mozilla Firefox for Ubuntu canonical - 1.0

Video on Facebook plays without sound. The video plays, I see the image normally, but no sound. Video on Youtube works perfectly.

Fresh install without addons or plugins. Switching to "Troubleshoot mode" does not change anything. Youtube with sound, Facebook without sound.

Any ideas where to look?

Synced Tabs from other device did show till yesterday but no longer showing

It just says "connect another device"

My other device had to be 'factory reset' but that was some time ago (nearly a month) and the tabs from it were still showing till yesterday in my main device, Now they've disappeared, is there a way to get those tabs back??

I read somewhere that those tabs are maybe on the Firefox server, is there a way to access those???

Hello, When i create a new tab (cntrl + T) I can no longer just start typing and have that be a google search. Now I need to manually click in the search bar. Is there a way to enable it so creating a new tab automatically puts the text into the search bar field?

Not sure why this stopped working, maybe a recent update. Thanks for your help.
