I have firefox updates set to auto. But I want them to load updates when im not using the browser. What currently happens is I open the browser only to get shanghaid by the update process. I dont want that. when I open the browser I want to go straight to what i am doing. I dont want to have to sit there and wait while the browser updates. If it did updates once a month or less it wouldnt be such an issue but the damn browser is updating every few days or even every day and it always wants to do it when I want to do my own work. IS there not a way for the browser to update while im asleep at 3 am? When Im not wanting to use it. Its so irritating. It causes me to not bother with updates. I dont want to comply. When IM given a choice for any updating I set updates to install in the early hours when Im not inconvenienced by it. How can I do this with firefox?

I do not get my emails on my desktop. My email address ends with ---@ comcast.net. I can be reach via text on my Iphone. Thanks, Al Mizrahi

I've read the "fixes" from 2023 and they do not work for me. I tried changing the DESCRIPTION to blank, didn't work. Changed them to the corresponding e-mail for the account. Didn't work. Changed it to "SMTP" with the corresponding e-mail. Didn't work.

It keeps changing the last one I edit to the one I edited before it. It's driving me crazy. Won't send mail unless the User Name is correct (obv.)

Whole mess started when forced to switch from Cox to Yahoo recently. Seems to be working other than TB changing the name as soon as I type in the next one in the next email address and then it not working until I change the User Name back to the proper e-mail address of the 6 accounts.

Web cam image on web page stopped working after last update. Using win 11. Tried refresh, worked last time but not this time, checked permission security settings. Can get the camera image on a tablet but not laptop. (lenovo) Anything I might have missed?

My Windows virus protection shows nothing but I keep getting notices int he lower right corner of my screen that say Mozilla Firefox ESR and tell me there is an infection. It tries to take me to a website to scan and then buy McAfee to fix it. If I make sure Firefox is shut down (forced through Task Manager) it seems to go away. It appears that only the Firefox browser may be infected.

I can login from other web browsers, but not Firefox. What's going on?

But then absolutely nothing happens. Please advise.

I have Screwfix.com as a bookmark in my Firefox browser(default) and have recently found that I am unable to log in to Screwfix.

Screwfix tell me that I should be able to log in using Microsoft Edge (I can) but I prefer Firefox!

Can you sort this out for me please?

I've been trying to delete cookies and site data multiple times and it will not delete, even after multiple attempts to fix it. Such as deleting Mozilla folder in file explorer and downloading an extension to delete cookies and cache. Everything else gets deleted fine except for 2 sites.

Firefox takes about 5 minutes to load every it launches, before working smoothly like it should. This problem occured first time yesterday morning, and I have no idea what could have caused it.

It happens :

• when I launch firefox normally (whatever the profile)
• when I launch it from the terminal (it provides no output at all)
• when I tell it to launch the Profile Manager (5 minutes to see the Profile Manager appear, then 5 more minutes to launch firefox using the selected profile)

It does not happen :

• when I click "New Window" inside an existing firefox process
• when I call `firefox --help` from the terminal

Here's what I've tried :

• First, I've seen pretty much every article from Mozilla Support, Reddit or SuperUser (writing this question is kind of my last resort)
• I've tried removing and then reinstalling Firefox from Flatpak, from the Fedora repos (using `sudo dnf install firefox`) and using the manual install via the archive (v125)
• I've tried downgrading firefox (when using the package manager install) from v125 to v124
• I've also tried the Firefox Developer Edition, same problem here
• I've tried using the "Refresh Firefox" feature and restarting in Troubleshoot Mode (both are also affected by the slow startup, which makes them particularly painful to execute)
• I've tried manually deleting the `~/.mozilla/` folder (= manually deleting my profiles)

When firefox launches, it does not freezes my OS and does not seem to use many system ressources : CPU usage is normal, RAM as well, and it does not seem to read many things from the disk as well (I've seen some threads where this was the issue).

And here is something interesting that I discovered :

• loading (including refreshing) `about:profiles` is also slow and this time freezes firefox (OS reports it as not responding, I can't switch tabs and I can't see my mouse). Other about pages seem to work fine (although I did not try them all)

PS : Even if I think it has nothing to do with the issue, I prefer to mention it here : I was messing with virtual machines yesterday when the issue occured for the first time. My disk got full at some point and I don't know but it might have messed with firefox. At this stage, I had not deleted any files that could relate somehow to Firefox, that's why I doubt it would have caused anything harmful to Firefox. (instead, I mounted an empty partition from my disk to get some space)

I've disabled all of my addons, cleared cache, and still youtube is broken for me. It works fine with Chrome still. Any ideas on how to fix? See attched screenshot.

After the browser update earlier today I cannot log into 'You Tube TV'. The browser keeps asking for my email and password over and over and never signs me in. It keeps telling that I am signed out and need to sign in, over and over. I cleared my cache and cookies. I changed my sign in from my yahoo email to my gmail account and it still will not work. If I use the chrome browser it works fine. Please Help.

I have tried several suggested fixes to get the Washington Post website to work properly, including reloading Firefox. Links within the site fail to load, pictures are hazy low-resolution, sometimes content doesn't display at all, or does so briefly before going blank. The problem seemed to start after an update 2 weeks ago. I am about to give up trying to fix this, and choose another browser. I don't understand why the problem only affects the WaPo website, which runs fine on chrome or Safari.

I'm attempting to import/load an Archive.sbd file folder containing my old Thunderbird emails circa 2002-06. I attach an image showing the files and their sizes. I'm using the import tool and selecting import from a thunderbird profile and selecting all categories of Data to be imported. I get an import failed unexpectedly message. I attach an image showing this response. If I select only mail messages to import, the process completes with a file folder called Thunderbird Import which is empty. Not sure what the problem may be. Possibly exceeding file size? or Am I selecting the right category under import. I have no Zip files hence didn't use import from a file. I'm really unsure as to how to even look at what's on the Archive files but certain the larger files contain email messages.

Dzień dobry, Chciałbym uzyskać pomoc z odblokowaniem możliwości wysyłania wiadomości, mianowicie prowadzę restauracje i wysyłałem duza liczbę wiadomości z ofertą gastronomiczna i nagle pojawił się problem.

Profiles was bad enough, as Thunderbird can never open the zip file (the wording of the alternative method is gobbledegook, and there are no recognisable files if you attempt to decipher it). At least you can set all your email addresses up manually - you can't physically re-types five years of calendar entries. The infuriating this is that when you start the import, the calendar entries appear before your eyes for up to five seconds and then the program crashes ... again and again and again. I must have been trying this on and off for years now and still nobody has fixed it.

I created a signature years ago. With the last Thunderbird update, the signature font (and image) shrunk in size. I would like the signature to match the font size of the message text, like it used to. I can't find any information about that, or any explanation as to why it shrunk.

I had someone breaking into a number of my accounts. They used my account to sign into Firefox. And I got an account authorization code, but I'm afraid to use the email in case it is them getting more info!!
