Every time I launch Firefox for iOS on my iPhone or iPad the app either crashes or hangs. I am using “old” Apple products both operating on iOS 15.7. Crashing occurs pretty much every time now I open the app (version Firefox 106.0 (20303)). I usually only have a handful of tabs open at any time so I don’t think my browsing habits are the cause? I have also noticed “flickering” between the shortcuts on my Firefox homepage - the name or icon for a few of the shortcuts switches around like some kind of identity crisis - so something is obviously glitching. The app hanging occurs when I am entering login/password details. Sometimes it takes 20 seconds to progress from the username field to the password field but more often the app just hangs and I have to relaunch and try again. I am almost at the point of ditching Firefox, the user experience is very bad. Any tips or suggestions please?

I did what you told me to resolve the problem. Didn't work! It's probably some barf sack of government shit creature stealing control over my machine, that I pay for, like the rest of these fuck from hell Canadian life stealing, life wrecking, life sucking Canadian intestinal worms I hate more than Satan hated Christ. That like stealing control on MY LIFE after I voted this country, government and people the fuck out of my life with their forced fuck from hell canadian citizenshit at the federal and provincial elections. My firefox browser keeps crashing 7-10 times everyday . Sometimes it forces me to reset firefox then login back to my google accounts and extensions . It is very frustrating to login everyday specially google accounts as it requires 2-Step verification .

I feel nostalgic using firefox because I have been using firefox since my childhood started from 10 years ago when I first start browsing in the internet . I have not moved to any other browsers ever since . It might found to be a bit funny that I grew some emotions using this great browser and I believe the issue can be fixed .

If the crashing issue is not fixed then I am afraid that I may move to using other browsers and that looks a lot easier than facing the issue .

I am using firefox for windows on a 64bit windows 11 pro . System info screenshot will be added with this report . Please consider my situation in a bit serious matter and hopefully I will get your response asap .

Hi there. Whenever I open a new tab, it crashes, meaning that the rest of the browser keeps working fine but it is unable to load the contents of about:newtab and replaces them with a crash error. I have been tinkering around with the settings and found out it only happens when "shortcuts" is turned on for New tab. If turned off, New tab loads normally. Full disclosure: I am using Nightly on a computer nearly (but not totally) supported by Windows 11. No Nightly experiments that I think should interfere with a new tab are turned on. I’ve been using Firefox synced to my account on my iPad for a while with no problems, and only started running into this problem today. The app for the most part works normally, but when I open specifically the history tab the whole app crashes. I can still use Firefox on my android and computer completely fine, and have tried clearing some of my history using my phone, to no avail. Only the history tab does this- downloads, bookmarks, and reading list are all fine. Any advice on how to fix this?

since the last redevelopment of Mozilla Firefox I am having trouble exiting both my private and non private browser. I want to uninstall Firefox and re install it to see if that gets rid of the gremlins.

Hi there, like it says. My firefox crashes immediately upon trying to play a video. Even simply scrolling over a video on youtube or google results, it breaks when it tries to the preview. This is the same on Twitter, Facebook, Campus Moodle, etc. Every website I use.

I've had this problem before and I did fix it by totalling wiping my history and browsing cache. Doing that and having to sign back into everything is super tedious though and I don't want it to keep happening. This doesn't happen when I use firefox's troubleshooting mode, everything works as normal and videos play without the browser crashing. So I think it must be something specific to my browsing history somehow? But I've no idea how that could crash the browser just from trying to play a video.

this happened only on my m1 iPad. firefox on my iPhone doesn't have this problem. 1.suddenly freezes up. need to relaunch the app. 2.sometimes lags and stutters when scrolling, switch tabs, and open settings. 3.sometimes it outright crashes after a very bad stuttering. this happened even when i only have couple of tabs opening.

i had tried everything i can think of with no success. 1.clear all browsing data. 2.delete and redownload the app(+delete firefox's folder in files app). 3.update iOS(both security patches and to next version).

the only thing i haven't tried is too factory reset the iPad. which i hope to avoid.

I am regularly getting crashes on Firefox When browsing using my iPhone 12 mini running on iOS 16. As soon as there is any sort of ‘heavier’ task, such as loading a PDF or browsing an online news site with loads of ads, the whole browser just freezes up and I can’t do anything unless I force close the browser via the multitasker.

It is happening multiple times per day.

What information can I provide to you to help troubleshoot this issue?

Good afternoon, Today 11/10/2022, every time I have opened Firefox on my iPhone 12 Pro Max it crashes. So much so I have deleted and reinstalled the app 4 or 5 times and every time after I sign in and sync it starts again. My iPhone is up to date with iOS 16. I don’t know what happened or why this keeps happening. Please help?

After a Firefox update the app stopped working. It crashes all the time when being open.

Firefox asks if I want to restore tabs, but no matter the answer it always crashes. I did reinstall the app on the phone - did not help.

After the most recent update to version 106.1 on my iPhone 11 iOS 15.6.1, every time I open Firefox and open a new tab the browser is unresponsive for several seconds, then slowly registers my input in the search bar, and occasionally crashes during that process. It also hangs up and crashes at random. It will no longer open links to PDF files. I love Firefox, but this is becoming unusable.

Attempted to scroll through a folder of bookmarks (Firefox for iOS on an older iPad Pro that’s been fully updated to iOS 16.1). About halfway through the scroll, the app shuts down. Upon restart, it restores tabs, but also apparently clears cache, forcing me to re-login to accounts.

I get constant crashes on Firefox for iOS. When I posted this in a review in the app store, you asked me to post it here. This happens both on iPhone 13 Pro as well as on an iPad Pro 11" 2018.

There is no rule on when it happens. Sometimes it happens when switching tabs, sometimes when adding tabs by opening links in the background, sometimes when just reading. Firefox slows down, becomes very unresponsive and just closes. When I open it again, I get an "woops something went wrong" popup and the tabs open again. It usually goes better after reopening, so it's not related to the websites I was visiting. For your info, this is when visiting news sites (The Guardian, VRT NWS) or forums (modulargrid.net, modwiggler, gearspace) or anything else. It's becoming very unusable and hasn't gone away despite following the updates.

In the last few weeks, despite regular updates Firefox constantly crashes, freezes, or works very slowly compared to my previous experience.

11/22 Firefox crashing after recent iOS update to 12.5.6. Restarted, removed Firefox to reinstall, but I find no working version for iOS 12.5.6 for iPad Air. IPad Air = model MD789LL/B System upgraded to 12.5.6 Restarted Firefox, crashes, goes to desktop. Go to App Store but no Firefox listed for this sys version. HELP ANYONE?

The browser started continuously crashing a few days ago. When I reopen the app, a message pops up that says it crashed and wants to know if I want to reopen all of my tabs or not. The app will almost immediately crash again. Sometimes there’s enough time to hit yes or no on request to reopen the tabs. Regardless of what one is pressed, the app almost immediately crashes once more. I checked the app, and realized I was using 107.0 instead of the most current 107.2 app. I updated the app, and I made sure I was using the most current iOS as well. I’ve restarted my phone. I’ve deleted and reinstalled the app, but to no avail. Is anyone else experiencing these issues? Please help?
