We have recently enabled background updates in our organization, however I noticed that a requirement for this to work is that Firefox needs to be run with the default profile at least once after the feature is enabled. The issue we have is that not all users are actively using Firefox and therefore they are not being updated. I realize the security flaws won't be exposed if it's not in use, but management doesn't like seeing out of date browsers. Is there a way to force auto updates on all device where Firefox isn't not being used. Background updating is working for the majority of those that do use Firefox.

Also, we do have a couple of users reporting a credential prompt when updating from 119 to 119.0.1. These same users had no issues updating from 118 to 119. I have not figured out why this is happening just yet and why only for a handful of users so far. Would anyone have an idea why that is happening?

Hi, my proxy configuration settings got selected to No proxy and I'm unable to update it to auto proxy/manual proxy configuration settings as you can see in the below image, the pop got disabled and unable to select other options.

Steps to replicate 1.open fire fox browser 2.click on settings 3.select general >> Network settings 4.Click on settings

Actual result: unable to edit the proxy configuration settings got selected to no proxy and editing is disabled

Expected result: should allow user to select the below configuration options i. Auto detect proxy settings for this network ii.use system proxy settings iii.Manual proxy configuration

I am writing to seek assistance regarding a challenge I have encountered while attempting to install a custom add-on from a file.

I have followed the steps to enable the debug menu on Firefox Nightly, and I have also successfully downloaded the custom add-on in XPI format to my mobile device. However, upon navigating to the Add-ons settings, I am unable to locate the option to install the add-on from a file.

I have reviewed the official documentation and community forums for guidance, but I have not found a solution specific to my situation.

Could you kindly provide detailed instructions on how to install a custom add-on from a file on Firefox Nightly for Android? I have been watching YouTube videos on firefox android and have been clicking ful screen and landscape has been fine. Then over night a few days ago, it stopped. When I turn the phone to landscape, the video sound is playing but the video is blank, with no picture. It is fine in normal portrait just not when I click full screen when it was working.

I've cleared the cache and history, I've even unistalled Firefox and reinstalled it twice, once from the play store and once as the apk but to no avail. I have also disabled adons, tried the picture to picture, and autoplay but nothing works.

Any help to rectify and return my viewing would be appreciated.

Every time a youtube video is placed on landscape mode on the firefox app of my android phone it becomes a single blurred image with the audio playing as normal.

Youtube seems to work fine on other browsers and I have tried all basic fixes, like deleting cache/data/reinstalling app etc. Appreciate any help.

Edit. Okay I managed to fix the issue so I'm adding the solution here in case anyone runs into this problem. Apparantly youtube playback decided to enable "ambient mode", a feature I didn't even know existed and seems to not play well with a phones resolution.

Just click the settings gear while the video is playing in landscape (mine is on the top right) and disable the "Ambient mode" feature.

I have been using Thunderbird for years to access several @charter.net email addresses, lately administrated at Spectrum, which took over Charter. Everything was working normally until today. I can still receive emails, but when I send, I get an error message asking for a password: "password required for outgoing SMPT server" Manually entering a password in that error message box doesn't help. Spectrum support is not helpful beyond confirming that my email sends and receives normally as long as I access it on their website. Three clues: 1) Spectrum recently announced "new and improved" email. 2) One customer service person described my email addresses as "legacy". 3) My gmail address sends and receives just fine from Thunderbird as usual. Firefox will not allow my to post comments on Yahoo. I have no issues with Chrome or Safari. I get the following error message: Your comment failed to publish. Retry

Through lunch overboard I can't employee problems Chrome to Firefox on the same Samsung A7 or my A8 tablet. I followed directions and cannot call me most people think ing we got to help.

All of a sudden I can't open a certain website. I opened the website a few days ago with no problem and have been using the site for years. (I checked to see if the site is down but it's not.) I googled how to unblock websites in Firefox and nothing I've tried works. I disabled Trackers for the website and I cleared my Cookies. I added the Firefox uBlock extension a few weeks ago to stop constant website popups (after I tried resetting Firefox) and I turned uBlock off for this certain website but I still can't access the website. I also installed Mozilla VPN last week. I'm using Firefox 122.0.1. What could be the problem?
