I use the Mozilla default start page (about:home). The search engine has changed from Google to Funmoods. I do not have the Funmoods toolbar & Funmoods is not in my installed programs. Funmoods is also not listed as an add-on nor is it showing up in my other search engines. I just want to get rid of it. I've reset my home page to Mozilla default (about:home) - no change. I went into about:config & reset "browser.startup.homepage" and I still have funmoods as the default search. Can anyone figure out where funmoods might be hiding & how I can reset my default search engine to google??

I think the techniques in the following thread should work as long as you don't have any lingering extension: How to prevent 3rd party applications from changing FF settings (e.g. homepage)?.

To root out any suspicious sounding or just plain unnecessary extensions, check the list here:

orange Firefox button or classic Tools menu > Add-ons > Extensions category
