Funny thing is....there is no crash report to be found. Not even in the crash report folder. Firefox just auto exit and restart by itself. Do we call that crashing ???

Perform the suggestions mentioned in the articles provided by Cor-el in his above reply.

Check and tell if its working.

Perform the suggestions mentioned below:

1) Restart your Windows in Safe Mode as described in the following article:

2) Uninstall Firefox as described in this article -> Uninstall Firefox from your computer

  • Restart your system

3) Is my Firefox problem a result of MALWARE ??

-> Do a MALWARE check with these Malware Scanning programs. You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. Make sure that you UPDATE each program to get the latest version of their Databases before doing a Scan. Also, Close All other Applications (softwares) before Starting to Run Scans.

-> Your Malware undetectable by most anti-malware programs (maybe because randomly named) may still be present and has other hidden symptoms, see this article -> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Backdoor_%28computing%29

-> After performing all the above steps, Restart your system.

4) Download latest Firefox version from the following link using some other Web Browser:

5) Install Firefox 12 as described in this article -> How to install Firefox on Windows

  • DON'T START FIREFOX YET

6) Create a New Profile to check if your current profile is causing the problems, as described in this article -> Basic Troubleshooting - Make a New Profile

  • Now start Firefox using this newly created profile.

Check and tell if its working.

7) IF that New Profile works then you can recover your History, Bookmarks, Passwords, etc. from the Old Profile, as described in this article -> Recovering important data from an old profile

Nope it is not working. Is it possible that some plugins might be missing or is it windows components that is causing the problems. If it cannot be solved please tell me which firefox version is stable. I love this website and i need to use it. Thanks

The Modules section of your Crash Report lists 2 files whose details are unclear

  1. RadioWMPCoreGecko12.dll
  2. SmartbarFireFoxRemotePlugin_12.dll
    • That's why i asked to scan your system for detecting possible threats on your system

The Extensions section shows that your Firefox Crashed while these extensions were still enabled, thus they could be the cause of Crash.

What are those 2 files. I cannot see it in my extension files. Scan the systems but no threats.

You likely have a frame poisoning crash. This is caused when some program tries to read what is on an expired/old page (which may have been something like a banking page) but Firefox diverts them to an invalid place for your security. The program gets invalid data and causes Firefox to crash.

As for what's causing this, mha is right, there are two suspicious files in your crash report. RadioWMPCoreGecko12.dll and SmartbarFireFoxRemotePlugin_12.dll

Doing more research: they're not viruses per se, but they're installed by third party programs that try to impact your browsing behavior:

SmartbarFireFoxRemotePlugin_12.dll is the SnapDo Smartbar extension which redirects searches that you make to their site (which is probably not what you want).

RadioWMPCoreGecko12.dll is part of a radio toolbar framework that helps you "find" radio stations online. The exact name of the toolbar varies as a number of different radio toolbars are based on this framework.

You may have installed both of these programs at some point or some third party application did (often things like this are bundled with "free" software you get online). You may not have installed them into Firefox directly (in fact it's very unlikely you did) and the third party application you installed then installed the Firefox functionality.

Both of these are also good candidates for the cause of your crash, but it could just as easily be some other application that's injecting into the Firefox process that doesn't show up in your crash report. Note: Just because they try to read expired pages doesn't mean they're malicious, they could just be badly written and hence they may not be caught but antivirus programs.

My advice would be to run a variety of different malware/spyware programs and make sure you take all the windows updates. You can also read other people's complaints about SnapDo Smartbar here: http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=65942 and there may be some suggestions posted to that thread (it's really new.) The spybot forums are also a good place to get advice about removing malware.

You likely installed software that added an extension or toolbar to Firefox that uses the two files RadioWMPCoreGecko12.dll and SmartbarFireFoxRemotePlugin_12.dll which are causing Firefox to crash.

Open the Firefox menu and click on Add-ons, go to the Extensions list, disable each of your extensions and restart Firefox to see if that stops the crashes. For more help see Disable or remove Add-ons
