I synced my desktop and laptop a few years ago. I have a new smartphone and cannot sync the laptop with the phone. I don't have any info l saved from history..
I think I need to clear all the history associated with the earlier sync between my desktop and lap top. I've gone through the steps delineated in your FAQ files to no avail. I was successful in generating a new 'sync key'. but that didn't do the trick.
It seems to me I need to totally eliminate any Firefox retention of the past syncing so I can start this new sync with a clean slate.
I hope someone can help me...I need to have ready access to my laptop tabs on my smartphone...thanks,,,

Check and tell if its working.
I've tried the procedure you referenced. I still believe I need to clear all earlier syncing history before I can sync my phone with my laptop. When I tried the procedure you've recommended I couldn't find/recall my old sync key. I went through the process of resetting and creating a new sync key, but that didn't help...
