My internet service provider has tarriffs partly based on vol of data downloaded. Is there a way Firefox can tell me the volume of data downloaded over a period of time?
I am with Talktalk & their have a cheaper tarriff for a "40gb download allowance" (probably per month). I have no idea how much I currently download so don't know if I should accept this constraint. (I also use MS Outlook as a mail client but can probably estimate the volume from this from old emails in my inbox, & I occasionally use Skype video links & Iplayer to watch recent TV programmes.)

No, Firefox doesn't have a feature like that. I have seen extensions like that for Australian internet service providers in the past, but you would need an extension specifically for your service provider, TalkTalk.
Are you sure TalkTalk doesn't keep track of that download data in some type of "user console"? My service provider, Comcast, recently instituted "data caps" and added a data usage feature to the "user console" for the account owner logon.
