firefox is acting very slow (slower than with my 14k4-modem years ago). IE and Chrome work with the speed of light, even typing is delayed. What is wrong here?
opening a new tab or window from facebook takes about two minutes, same with sending messages within facebook. Graphical steering programmes are updated already.

The default of the pref network.http.max-connections has been increased from 30 to 256 in Firefox 6+ versions.
Try to decrease the value of the pref network.http.max-connections from 255 to a setting like 30 as used in Firefox 3 versions.
