What other versions have you tried. Several of us and my family members had complete success installing [ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/5.0/win32/ FireFox 5.0] over top of FireFox 6.xx and thus solving all the problems with the current FF versions. This is on Win 7 64x (my computer), my wife's Vista machine and a friends older WinXP computer. Provide some detail on your previous efforts, perhaps someone here can help.
