I need to correct a user name to all lower case but it won't allow
Firefox has remembered a case-sensitive user name that I incorrectly started with an upper case letter. I cannot successfully retype it since it reverts to the upper case version and therefore cannot get into the desired site.

Make sure that you haven't saved Uppercase and Lowercase versions of that name and password. Remove saved Password(s):
- Tools > Options > Security: Passwords: "Saved Passwords" > "Show Passwords"
