Proxy setting not routing properly

When using the about:config and changing the network.proxy.http and the port to a proxy server that requires authentication not pop up comes up for login. End result is the user is not able to use our proxy services and I would like to know if there is a fix for this or is there an additional setting?

You can use this add-on to set the proxy settings in mobile Firefox: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/mobile/addon/proxy-mobile/

Or try setting "network.proxy.type=1" in about:config: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Network.proxy.type
