I have had this problem numerous times with ASK. It like to piggyback itself on other installs of software you or programs installed on your computer. A simple fix to get rid of ASK and all traces, as I don't even bother with windows add/remove. is going to [www.download.com} and using a third party uninstaller such as Revo Uninstaller which I have used for years, and it's free. The neat thing is that in addition to running the standard build in uninstall function is that it will also search for leftover files on HD & Registry. I would uninstall FF4 using Revo to remove all personal data/settings & reinstall.

I downloaded Revo Uninstaller, installed it and removed Ask. When I started FF4 again, there it was, my first choice search engine. I again removed it in manage search engines. I will wait to see what happens next. If it shows up again, I WILL uninstall FF4 and probably NOT install again. Thank you so much for your help.

I tried all of your recommendations and the next time I started FF4 Ask search engine was first choice. I removed it once again and it has never showed up again so far. Thank you so much Dbellca82 for you help!!!

Dig this cats. Go to your Mozilla start up page. Go to Google home page. Then drag the Google Icon on the left side by the search bar over to the Icon of a home on the upper right side and Google will be restored as your home page. I hate you Ask.com, you were like a leach!

lmao!! i am also going to apply these!! as i not only have ask but facemood for loging in thankfully i already have wot which stops some of the b.s. associated.. will keep you advised as i have to file a lot of programs for reinstall after its dissappeared!!
