There's no LastPass add-on in the market, LastPass e-mailed me a link to download an .xpi, but now what?

The xpi file is in my downloads folder, but when I click on it to Open, nothing happens. There's no LastPass add-on in the official directory.

Is this what you're looking for? https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/lastpass-password-manager/

By the way, they had a security breach recently, so maybe they're not so secure as you might think. See Potential intrusion suspected in LastPass password service

There's a "LastPass for Premium Customer" in the Android Market. You can just install the add-on from there into your Android phone. This is a PAID version. LastPass does not have a FREE version for Android.

To install the LastPass add-on in Firefox for Android, go to this web page using Firefox on your Android device: https://addons.mozilla.org/mobile/addon/lastpass-password-manager/

or open the add-on manager in Firefox for Android and search for "lastpass".

I already have the Last Pass premium account app installed, but it's basically another browser, not an extension in FF. You still have to switch back and forth between FF and LP, copying and pasting user IDs and passwords, which kind of defeats the purpose of using FF for Android. When I try to install the plugin in the Mobile Add-ons home, the Last Pass Manager says it's not available for Android. grrrrr.

You are right, LastPass works differently in Firefox Mobile, you have to switch back and forth to copy/paste passwords. It's not an "add-on", just another software program that you can install in Android. That's why it's in the Android Market and not in the Firefox Add-on list.
