Ever since I installed version 3.6 and its updates, Firefox not only takes forever to load but when it does it is affecting my whole PC. While it is loading, I can barely launch anything else without a significant lag. When Firefox is finally running, it is also slow in loading many websites and often does not immediately recognize letters that I type in, for instance, the search bar. Even MS Word is affected as it is slowed whenever Firefox is running. Ditto for anything else. Worse yet, I can hear the hard drive trying hard to load Firefox. It will start and pause until it finally "catches" after a minute or more and then Firefox will appear. This does not occur with either Google Chrome or IE, although running Firefox seems to affect these browsers as well (they can launch quickly). I also have a lot of "lost internet connection" when Firefox is running. I think there is something seriously corrupted in the program. Don't want to uninstall it as we have been loyal users since almost Day 1 of the Firefox browser, but it is seriously affecting my entire PC. I've seen other posts about this but most only deal with either slow loading or crashes, not the entire PC. Running Windows XPsp3. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
