FireFox 3.6.3 displays type as open boxes. How do I fix this on a Mac G5 Tower OSX 10 .5.8?

Some websites display text as open boxes. This problem doesn't exist on my Intel based Mac Book Pro with the same Operating system. This also doesn't happen with Safari. ONLY Firefox.
