Firefox to stop requesting the master password on every startup

I already found many users asking the same, but they didn't get a reply.... at least I didn't see any.

I want to protect my password memory with a master password - fine. But in 99% of my time, I don't need to enter login data. Even worse, if FF starts on an "invisible" monitor, I cannot move the window.

Is there a way to have FF prompt only for the password if I attempt to log into a site ? ... it already does that when I cancel the start-up prompt.... so is there an "auto cancel at startup ?"

Are you using Sync as this is a possible reason to ask for the Primary Password when you start Firefox ?

Using Sync is a possible reason to ask for the Primary Password at startup. This is because the credentials to login to the Sync account are stored in the Password Manager and you need to enter the Primary Password to unlock the passwords and connect/login to the Sync account.

Yes, I'm using sync, so that explains the problem but doesn't solve it :-(

So I must live with the annoying prompt and the blocked window or disable the master password ... or use something else to store my credentials.

Firefox will always use logins.json to store the credentials for connecting to the Sync account, so access to this file is always required and you need to enter the PP to make Sync work. If you wouldn't use the PP then having access to logins.json and key4.db and store the logins elsewhere would be sufficient to connect to Sync.
