Completely erasure of all tabs and history, tabsheets after crash :(
Dear, I always have a lot of tabs opened and I guess I had one too many opened yesterday. Already I had to recover my settings after a crash the day before. So I had the crash and restarted the pc yesterday evening. All my tabs were gone, so I shut down the pc and started up again this morning and still no sign of restart or nothing of my tabs, history, all my Linux worksheets were completely empty accept for this page... I went to settings to restart the previous settings but it always does that automatically, and it only started the one I was in this morning (the empty one) I tried for a crash rapport but could not find one. How do I get everything back, please ?! I need to get the tabs back before this previous session! Please help... Where can I find them? What can I do? I can't have lost them all ... I will go nuts .. Please help me! My system is a Linux Mint 21.0 version, I think Thank you so much! Nadine

With luck you will find the earlier session in a file named recovery.baklz4.

Any specific reasons for using this very outdated Firefox 88.0.1 version and not a current release ?
Thanks for the replies ... I was too late to use this backup file or the previous.jsonlz4 It had already been overwritten by a version right after the crash..
Maybe If there had been more backups from before I could have set everything back ..... Now I can only hope I can set it back with Timeshift .....
@cor-el Why I use older versions is the fear of something going wrong when I update..... It wouldn't be the first time things go very wrong, so why change a good thing .... well now I know :)

@cor-el Not long ago I upgraded a Linux mint 19.3 cinnamon on an old backup pc and he asked a password for the root directory... I inserted the same password I always use but since then I can no longer acces my linux... I edited into the grub the next line: rw init=bin/bash and then F10 and typed passwd I entered 2 times but it gave authentication token manipulation error.... So, I can either try to find a solution or install Linux again and losing all data...
You could ask your distro support for advice about setting the root password and, possibly, using init 1 to login.
You should backup your profile. I use Archive Manager but there are other ways.

Thank you for all your support... problem 2. pc1: I got into my Linux program but still have problems with the password... I got in via a usb stick with the iso on it. I opened Gparted and mounted the HD and saw all my files again :) I made a dir /media/usb-drive and mounted /dev/sdc. I saw it appear under the mounted HD .. I then tried to copy my files from the HD to the usb stick but it doesn't work ... I can copy them but only to one of the documents of others...but not to the usb stick :( any thoughts?

Those questions are best answered by your distro support.
I am able to boot a live USB in what is called "persistent mode" so that any changes I make endure beyond a reboot. Unless in that mode, copying files wouldn't persist even if possible.
Since you have GParted, you may be able to 'repair' the partition containing your files. The partition has to be unmounted. Select the partition in the list then in the menu Partition > Check. There's a command line equivalent but I don't know what it is on your distro.
