How do I hide the tab bar when Firefox is in full screen mode? (Mac)

Even when I'm in Full Screen mode on my Mac, Firefox insists on putting a tab bar at the top of the page; how do I hide that tab bar? I've searched all over the settings and Internet to find an answer, but no luck in finding the answer.

The main idea of "Full Screen Mode" is to maximize the usable display area of the browser window. When I'm using Full Screen Mode, I am intentionally using just one URL. If I need a new window, then I'll get another Full Screen Firefox window (not a tab). This is an incredible waste of screen real estate, to have a single tab consuming an entire row... so irritating!

Firefox didn't used to do this; can you tell which older version that I can use that doesn't have this behavior?

Thanks...

Click out of the address bar, then exit full screen and enter it again. Issue #2: Firefox has a switch for whether to hide the toolbar area in fullscreen. You can double-check that here: (1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return.
