A few minutes ago, I submitted a question from my laptop which uses Firefox and Windows 10. I just noticed that your system showed that my question was coming from Chrome Windows 10 and from an IP address that matches my Ipad and NOT my laptop.

How is that possible? I didn't send my question from my ipad. I sent it from my laptop which uses Windows 10 but Firefox; and I don't have Chrome on my laptop or my ipad. So how could your system pickup Chrome when it's not in my home anywhere, and why would it detect my Ipad's IP address instead of my laptop/regular home IP address? (I have no sync between my Ipad and my laptop).

Please clear up this mystery.

Regards, Steve

Your laptop IP will be based on the VPN/Proxy or the wifi your using their IP address. Are you using a free wifi to connect if you do your location is based on the wifi IP address.

Thanks for the input, but I am not at all tech savvy and don't understand the question. I have my internet, email and cable TV through Rogers, all through my paid subscription. I use Rogers Mail which I access through the link they provided. I have been using the same email for years; I have gone online to check my IP address and it always comes up with the same address that I get when I go into my Microsoft settings to see my iPv4 address). As I mentioned earlier, my Ipad/gmail are not synced to my laptop/home email. So I don't comprehend why Mozilla detected my ipad address when I sent an inquiry from my laptop/home email. I don't know anything about a proxy nor have I ever set one up.

Your IP Address is determined by your ISP that give internet address a IP address to use. And the Browser uses that IP address to determine your location. So you will have to contact Roger support if there is IP Address location issues.
