I have been using Firefox and several addons for years. One of the addons that I have been using for a very long time is "Group Seed Dial". I'm extremely happy with it. This problem began just a few days ago. I leave my computer on all the time and very often (most often) I will walk away from it for the night with a couple of browser windows open and several tabs open in each. A few days ago I simply came back to my computer that morning and clicked on the "+" to open a new tab - this always opens into my Group Speed Dial page. But that did not happen it just opened to my "Home" page (Google search). I tried a different window and the same thing happened, it seemed my Group Speed Dial was gone. I wend to >Tools >Addons and I saw the Group Speed dial in the "disabled" section. So I simply clicked the toggle button to "enable" it and - the speed dial was back just like before. I thought there must have been some glitch and just went on with my day. The problem is, the next day it happened again, and then today it happened again. I am using Firefox 84.0.1 (64-bit). I am on Windows 10. During the time this has been happening, I have not shut down all browsers, no updates were announced or shown to have happened. I have not shut off my computer, there have been no windows updates. Does anyone know why this is happening? I'm worried there is a bug or a virus causing this. I use Windows Defender and Malware Bytes Premium. Thank you.
