Remove URL from search suggestions but not all URLs from that domain
A website I visit often has an annoying splash page I'd rather not have to go through every time I go there so how do I remove the default url that shows up in the suggestions but not the page I actually use which has never shown up above the default url once?
For reference this I am using firfox on linux

Hi, do you mean on the drop-down below the address bar after you type one or more characters to generate matches from history?
If you press the down arrow key down to highlight the unwanted suggestion and press Shift+Delete, that usually prevents Firefox from suggesting it there. This doesn't actually delete the history for that URL, which I suppose could be "Plan B" if that doesn't work.
If the unwanted suggestion appears before you type anything, most likely it has moved up the ranks of Top Sites on your new tab page. You can go to the new tab page, hover the mouse pointer over that item to show the menu button, click that button, then Dismiss the site to block the URL from Top Sites.
